The control of hospital water is important. The route of transmission is predominanthy fecal – oral, often via contaminated hands. Outbreaks were reported in daycarecenters, sport facilities, nursing homes, nosocomial transmission is common in hospitals. Gastrointestinal infections are caused by several viruses that can be found in feces, such as: enteroviruses, adenoviruses, rotaviruses, astroviruses, caliciviruses, coronaviruses, hepatitis A virus and hepatitis E virus. Viral infections are common in the hospital and can cause nosocomial infections. Medical standards considered that, in the developed world, at least 20 % of all hospital acquired infections can be prevented. In the developing world the rate can be 25 % or more.
