If you would like to transfer an existing Mac running Mac OS X 10.6 to a virtual machine, or take a Mac OS X 10.6 bootable storage device/clone/disk image and convert it into a virtual machine please see this article instead. This article deals with setting up/installing a virtual machine with Mac OS X 10.6 clean/from scratch. This is a legal requirement by Apple.You are legally allowed to virtualise the server version but not the normal, client version.
